Losing weight the right way
Filipinos seeking weight-loss treatment were urged to undergo medically supervised and science-based care instead of self-medicating amid the growing popularity of drugs sold through the black market. Wei Sun, general manager of Novo Nordisk, said obesity medications should only be taken with proper consultation, diagnostics, and monitoring from healthcare professionals. Sun also said obesity is linked to more than 200 diseases, including Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular illnesses. Novo Nordisk launched its ‘Live Lighter’ movement in the Philippines alongside the rollout of Wegovy and announced a partnership with Rose Pharmacy to improve access to obesity care in Cebu and the Visayas.
