The Maharashtra Cyber Department has issued a legal notice under Section 79(3)(b) of the IT Act to Google and Apple, demanding the removal of Ola, Uber, and Rapido apps from their respective app stores. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik stated that these aggregator companies are operating bike taxi services without mandatory government compliance, valid documentation, and proper passenger safety protocols, forcing the state to take strict regulatory actions.
