Mumbai, Maharashtra: Mumbai paid an emotional tribute to legendary ghazal singer and Padma Bhushan awardee Pankaj Udhas on his 75th birth anniversary with the inauguration of ‘Padma Bhushan Pankaj Udhas Chowk’ at Peddar Road. On the occasion, his daughter Reva Udhas spoke to IANS and shared her thoughts on the tribute. She expressed gratitude to Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the Mangeshkar family, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the dignitaries and artists who attended the inauguration ceremony and paid homage to the late singer Pankaj Udhas. Describing the event as an emotional celebration of her father’s life and legacy, Reva said she felt proud to see his name immortalised in Mumbai. She also reflected on the evolution of ghazal music over the years, adding that Pankaj Udhas would always be remembered as a timeless legend of the genre.
