Cayetano says Senate won’t delay Duterte impeachment trial
Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano on Monday said the Senate leadership would push through with the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte without unnecessary delays, even as he intensified accusations against the National Bureau of Investigation over last week’s shooting inside the Senate complex.
Speaking after the Senate convened as an impeachment court, Cayetano said both majority and minority senators agreed to preserve the Senate’s institutional processes despite political divisions.
