A paedophile will be released from jail when his sentence expires next month despite a bid by the South Australia government to keep him behind bars indefinitely. Former magistrate Peter Liddy has served a 25-year sentence for sexually abusing four children. He will mostly be confined to his home while the state continues its attempt to send him back to prison.
