A fresh wave of hazardous severe weather is breaking out across Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois today as the same storm system that wreaked havoc in Nebraska and Kansas last weekend continues its journey eastward. The Storm Prediction Center has issued severe weather alerts affecting more than 50 million individuals. Des Moines, Kansas City, and Chicago fall within the area at risk for tornadoes.
