A flash flood crisis is impacting the Midwest after the same storm system that caused several tornadoes last week unleashed six to eight inches of rain in just a few hours over Grundy County, Missouri, including Trenton. Rivers in Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois are overflowing as the National Weather Service declares flash flood crises — its highest alert level — in numerous counties.
