Caleb turns up late to the depot and finds Joe waiting for him. He sits staring at him, revving his car engine. Caleb drives at Joe but Cain is on the scene and drags Joe out of the way just in time. Joe relays to Ruby how Caleb tried to kill him earlier in the day and likens himself to Caleb, noting they are both equally stubborn. Caleb corrects him, saying that everything he does is for his family, while Joe serves in self-interest. Joe declares that their truce is now off the table.
