Philippine families wait for news as death toll rises in building collapse
Families of workers feared trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed building under construction in the Philippines voice growing frustration and despair on May 25, 2026 as rescue crews continue searching for survivors. At least four people were killed in the incident on May 25. Authorities said 17 people remain missing, most of them construction workers believed to have been on duty at the site when the multi-story building collapsed in Angeles City, north of Manila. Officials said thermal scans detected possible signs of life beneath the rubble, while investigators looked into reports that the structure, approved as a nine-story condo-hotel, had a swimming pool under construction on an additional 10th floor.
