Gloomy Eid ahead for Pakistanis after deadly train bomb attack
Residents of Quetta in southwestern Pakistan struggle to recover after a powerful bomb attack targeting a train damaged homes across the city just days before Eid al-Adha, the Islamic festival of sacrifice. As families clear debris and salvage belongings from shattered houses, many say the holiday celebrations are no longer on their minds. “At this time, Eid is not in our minds at all, even though Eid is in two days, because Eid is for those whose houses are intact and who can go shopping,” says Farooq, a private employee.
