A car veered off the road and fell into a roadside drain after the driver allegedly lost control while attempting to give way to a vehicle approaching from behind on the Mani–Mysuru highway.
The incident occurred around noon on Tuesday near Peraje.
According to eyewitnesses, the car was being driven recklessly and was seen swerving across the road moments before the accident.
A two-wheeler rider travelling behind the vehicle reportedly captured the entire sequence on camera.
Officials said the driver lost control while trying to give way to a tempo traveller coming from behind. The car then hit the roadside drain and finally came to a halt after its front portion reportedly struck the rear side of the tempo traveller.
Fortunately, all passengers inside the car escaped without injuries.
The front portion of the car sustained significant damage, while the tempo traveller also suffered minor damage in the incident.
Authorities said the identity of the car owner has not yet been confirmed.
Further investigation is underway.
