पंजाब नगर निकाय चुनाव 2026 के नतीजों ने राज्य की राजनीति में बड़ा उलटफेर कर दिया है। आम आदमी पार्टी ने 600 से ज्यादा सीटों पर बढ़त और जीत दर्ज कर विपक्ष को बड़ा झटका दिया है। कांग्रेस करीब 200 सीटों तक सीमित रही, जबकि अकाली दल 150 का आंकड़ा भी पार नहीं कर पाया। बीजेपी का प्रदर्शन भी बेहद कमजोर रहा और पार्टी लगभग 50 सीटों के आसपास सिमटती नजर आई। वहीं निर्दलीय उम्मीदवारों ने भी शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए 180 से ज्यादा सीटों पर जीत हासिल की। लुधियाना, मोहाली और अमृतसर जैसे अहम क्षेत्रों में ‘आप’ ने मजबूत बढ़त बनाकर अपनी राजनीतिक पकड़ साबित की है। राजनीतिक विश्लेषकों के मुताबिक किसान आंदोलन, अकाली दल से गठबंधन टूटना और सीमित वोट बैंक बीजेपी की हार की बड़ी वजह बने। अब इन नतीजों को 2027 विधानसभा चुनाव का सेमीफाइनल माना जा रहा है।
