The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has registered a landslide victory in the Punjab Local Body Elections 2026, dominating across 8 municipal corporations, 75 municipal councils, and 20 nagar panchayats. While AAP swept more than 881 wards during the counting of votes, Congress remained a distant second. On the other hand, BJP's ambitious plans for Punjab suffered a major setback, finishing far behind Congress and even independent candidates. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) also failed to make a comeback, sliding down to the fourth position.
