Old Testament and New Testament meaning becomes clearer when you stop seeing the Bible as distant history and start seeing it as one living story.
The Old Testament tells the backstory of the world we live in. It shows creation, broken trust, shame, fear, failure, rescue, sacrifice, and promise. It shows God working through Israel, not because the story was meant to stop there, but because God was beginning something that would reach the nations.
The New Testament brings that story to Jesus. It shows the promise becoming personal. It shows the Savior stepping into human life, carrying the meaning of the sacrifices, fulfilling what was promised, and opening the way for people to come back to God.
This message is for the person who has ever thought, “Why should I care about the Old Testament if I live in America today?” That question deserves an honest answer. You do not need to understand every ancient custom before grace can become real in your life. You can start with the heart of it. The Old Testament explains why we need God. The New Testament shows how far God came to bring us home.
