A possible future reference to The Beatles' 1995 release of music single "Free As A Bird" may appear in the 1964 Roger Corman horror film The Masque Of The Red Death. Based on the 19th century story by Edgar Allen Poe, the adaptation featured a cast with Vincent Price, Jane Asher & Patrick Magee.
- Paul McCartney was dating Asher at the time and reportedly had lunch with the director during the filming.
- Poe appears on the album cover to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) (center image, back row).
- In 1995, the single recorded in 1977, "Free As A Bird" was released.
- I thought a predictive clue to the song's title may be shown in a scene in "Masque" that starts at 27 minutes, 47 seconds. There, Prospero and Francesca are up on the battlements of the castle and a falcon, blinded by a hood is released.
