DAISY DUKES (!?) Future Reference To Christopher Lee As Count Dooku In Land Of The Minotaur (1976)?

A predictive easter egg clue to actor Christopher Lee's role as villainous Jedi master Count Dooku in Star Wars Episodes II & III (2002-2005) may appear in 1976 horror film Land Of The Minotaur (The Devil's Men). Peter Cushing, Donald Pleasence & Luan Peters starred in this. Lee & Cushing appeared in over 20 films together in their career, including Hammer's 1958 rendition of Dracula. Donald Pleasance also has a connection to Star Wars director George Lucas in that he had a role in his 1971 directorial debut THX 1138.

You can see the reference at around 9 minutes 48 seconds into Land Of The Minotaur. There, a group of young travelers arrive to meet Father Roche (Pleasence). Note the shorts of actress Vanna Reville (Beth). It wasn't until Luan Peters (Laurie) wears the same style low cut shorts at around 38 minutes 40 seconds that I realized "DAISY DUKES" were being shown repeatedly in this film. This is the name of a style of very short cut shorts worn by women, made famous by actress Catherine Bach in The Dukes Of Hazzard TV series (1979-1985). Actor Don Pedro Colley of THX 1138 also played recurring character, Sheriff Little on The Dukes Of Hazzard.

Lee, Pleasance & Colley all have links to adaptations of James Bond as well. Pleasance was villain Blofeld in You Only Live Twice (1967). Lee portrayed another villain, Scaramanga in The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) & Colley was the embodiment of voodoo spirit Baron Samedi in unrelated horror film Sugar Hill (1974). Actor Geoffrey Holder played Samedi in the James Bond spy film Live And Let Die in 1973.
