तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री विजय थलापथी ने राज्य में बढ़ते अपराधों पर सख्त रुख अपनाते हुए नए DGP को कड़े निर्देश दिए हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने कानून-व्यवस्था को मजबूत बनाने और अपराधियों के खिलाफ जीरो टॉलरेंस नीति अपनाने की बात कही। बैठक में महिलाओं की सुरक्षा, साइबर अपराध, गैंग गतिविधियों और नशे के कारोबार पर विशेष चर्चा हुई। नए DGP को पुलिसिंग में तकनीक के बेहतर इस्तेमाल और त्वरित कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करने का आदेश दिया गया है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि आम जनता की सुरक्षा सरकार की पहली प्राथमिकता है। राज्यभर में अपराध नियंत्रण के लिए विशेष अभियान चलाए जाएंगे। पुलिस अधिकारियों की जवाबदेही भी तय की जाएगी ताकि कानून का पालन सख्ती से हो सके। इस फैसले को तमिलनाडु में कानून-व्यवस्था सुधारने की दिशा में बड़ा कदम माना जा रहा है।
