This is the heartwarming moment a mum-of-two sprang into action to rescue an injured woodchuck after spotting it lying in the middle of a road following a collision with a car.
The rescue was carried out by Krysti Griffith from Minnesota, USA, who was driving her children to school when she noticed the animal stranded on the road in her neighbourhood.
Armed with a blanket and a clear plastic container, she carefully approached the injured animal while a neighbour assisted from nearby.
Footage of the rescue shows the pair working together to safely contain the frightened woodchuck before transporting it to a wildlife rehabilitation centre for treatment.
The condition of the animal is not yet known, with Krysti still waiting for an update from the rescue centre.
Krysti said: "I was driving my kids to school and there was a woodchuck that got hit by a car in the middle of the road in my neighborhood.
"I brought my kids to school, came back and was able to trap him and get him to the wildlife rescue.
"We are still waiting for an update on how it's doing."
Viewers praised the rescue effort after the footage was shared online.
One person commented: "Thanks for helping the lil' guy out."
Another joked: "The aggressive tactics required to save lives makes you realize why Batman went about it the way he did."
