Mega Hurricane Season Begins: Gulf & Carolinas on Standby

2026-06-04 2 Dailymotion

NOAA has officially commenced the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, forecasting between 8 to 14 named storms. AccuWeather indicates that unusually warm waters in the Atlantic greatly increase the likelihood of a severe hurricane that could intensify quickly. The Gulf Coast region, including Louisiana and Texas, along with the Carolinas, are at the greatest risk of a direct impact. With the potential for three to six significant hurricanes and exceptionally high ocean heat content, federal meteorologists are advising coastal regions to finalize their readiness, as conditions could change as soon as next week.
