XPeng says there are significant differences between Chinese and European motorists when it comes to attitudes towards autonomous driving. While 70% of Chinese drivers say they are open to cars without a driver, only 13% of European drivers feel the same. However, more than half of European drivers are comfortable with some AI-powered features in their vehicles.
With around 40% of its workforce focused on R&D, XPeng is investing heavily in autonomous driving technology and aims to stay ahead of other carmakers in this field. Brian Gu, Co-President of XPeng, spoke to CGTN Europe.
