The House of Representatives in the United States has voted in favor of the Ukraine Support Act with a bipartisan tally of 226-195, representing the first substantial aid package for Ukraine since President Donald Trump assumed office again. This legislation allocates $1.3 billion for direct military support, $8 billion for military sales, along with enhanced sanctions against Russia. Despite some GOP leaders' concerns that this could hinder ongoing discussions with Moscow, eighteen Republicans voted alongside Democrats to back the bill. It will now proceed to the Senate, where its prospects are unclear as lawmakers consider America's long-term involvement in the Ukraine crisis.
