Sotheby's previews art collection expected to beat European auction record

Sotheby's previews the Lewis Collection, consisting of 48 works expected to sell for a combined total of more than £200 million -- the highest estimate for any single-owner collection ever offered at auction in Europe. A nude by Modigliani is expected to fetch in excess of £45 million, with the 1917 painting 'Nu assis au collier' last up for sale in 1995. The collection belongs to the family of Joe Lewis, an 89-year-old British businessman and former owner of the London football club Tottenham Hotspur.
