Physical AI will not suffice for people to welcome robots into their homes. For robots to be truly trusted, accepted, and integrated into people's lives, their design must incorporate empathy-driven design. Using Zeroth’s “active empathy” philosophy, we show how robots can perceive emotional cues, adapt to individuals, and build memories, unlocking new possibilities in areas such as senior care, education, and companionship, where human-centered interaction is essential.
