Between June 10 and June 12, the United States faced one of its most severe weather incidents of 2026, with the National Weather Service reporting 2,392 storm incidents across 41 states. Illinois and Indiana were hit by at least 30 confirmed tornadoes, and a rare tornado emergency was declared in Marshall County, Illinois. Over 1,400 watches, warnings, and advisories were issued throughout the three-day span. Meteorologists caution that the storm pattern is now moving eastward, posing new threats of severe thunderstorms, flooding, and tornadoes to the densely populated states along the Atlantic Coast.
