At the Eurosatory defense exhibition held in Paris on June 15, 2026, Ukraine showcased its most advanced underwater drone yet, named the Sea Trident. Created by the Ukrainian firm Global Mark, this autonomous underwater vehicle weighs 10,000 kilograms and can carry a payload of up to 1,000 kilograms, boasting a maximum operational range of 2,000 nautical miles (around 3,700 kilometers). The Sea Trident is engineered for strategic maritime strike operations, cargo transportation, reconnaissance missions, and the interception of enemy underwater drones. It operates effectively at depths of up to 60 meters and features a low-observable design to avoid detection in contested waters. This launch coincides with the participation of around 80 Ukrainian defense companies at Eurosatory 2026, a significant rise from just 10 in 2024, showcasing the substantial growth of Ukraine's domestic defense sector. Ukraine's surface drone initiative has already forced the Russian Black Sea Fleet out of its primary bases in Crimea.
