At Swiss Art Awards 2026 in Basel, Switzerland, artist Nicholas Micros presents a selection of works from the series entitled Double Features. Doubling is the common theme that binds the different sculptures and wide range of themes; Sometimes quite obvious or more subtle, it is evident in works that are made of two distinct objects (Kafka's Grave), single works that depict two prominent features within (Judith), an implied or missing element (Goodbye Janey Waney), or a potential back and forth movement (Gate for Latecomers).

Nicholas Micros (b. 1960, New York) is an American sculptor working primarily in stone, plaster, cast cement, and metal. His minimalist, abstract works emphasize timeless forms, material presence, and dialogue with architectural or natural environments. Micros received a B.A. in Fine Arts from Gettysburg College in 1982. He maintained a studio in New York City from 1987 to 2017 and has lived and worked in Ottenbach, Switzerland, since 2001. Notable recognitions include a 2005 Guggenheim Fellowship and a 1997 Pollock-Krasner Grant. His sculptures have been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums, as well as in public and open-air settings in the United States and Switzerland.
