Check out this incredible moment hikers come face-to-face with the towering edge of a massive lenticular cloud high above Mt. Hood.
Kyle Wyatt, from Damascus, Oregon, USA captured the breathtaking scene while trekking through harsh conditions on the snow-covered mountain.
The video shows a mountaineer standing on the slope with trekking poles and winter gear as an immense wall of cloud sweeps past just yards away.
The sharp boundary between dense white mist and bright blue sky creates the appearance of a frozen wave suspended in the atmosphere, leaving onlookers in awe.
The footage highlights the dramatic effects of powerful winds interacting with mountainous terrain, producing the smooth, lens-shaped formations often associated with lenticular clouds.
Kyle said: “Crazy to watch the lenticular flow from that close. Pretty cool scene — although awful conditions to hike in.”
Viewers were fascinated by the rare sight in the comments.
One wrote: “If you are inside a lenticular in the mountain, there will be a wind and temperature can drop? Is that true?”
Another added: “Looks like one of those nightmares where you stand somewhere like this and wind blows you away and you fall and it wakes you up.”
