European robotics start-ups go up against Chinese heavyweights
"At least 60% of the robot is made in Europe and we’re fighting to keep it that way," explains Richard Malterre, communications director of the French start-up Enchanted Tools. Able to harvest grapes and welcome visitors in several languages, humanoid robots are taking centre stage at the VivaTech trade fair, as European start-ups look to stand out against Chinese companies, which dominate the sector.
