Covert EU Pathway Supplies Russian Missile Manufacturers

An investigation by Kyiv Independent and IrpiMedia reveals that industrial machinery produced in the EU has reached metallurgical facilities in Russia linked to defense, despite existing export bans. Customs documents indicate that Redwing Metal, based in Turkey, sent approximately $5 million worth of equipment in 2023 and 2024 to AMR and SMK, both under the control of businessman Nikolay Timokhin. These facilities are said to provide metal alloys to over 40 defense companies in Russia, including those associated with missile and fighter jet production. Experts on sanctions suggest that these shipments could represent a breach of EU sanctions, heightening the call for more thorough investigations.
