Angkor Wat is unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
We woke up before sunrise to explore Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world, before continuing on to Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm — famous for its massive trees woven into ancient stone.
Built nearly a thousand years ago (or maybe much earlier…), Angkor Wat is more than just a temple — it’s an ancient city filled with incredible architecture, astronomical alignments, and mysteries that still don’t fully make sense today.
We explored the Angkor complex at our own pace using a tuk tuk, which we highly recommend. Having your own transport makes it so much easier to move between temples like Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm — especially if you’re travelling with a family.
Watching the sun rise over Angkor Wat, seeing the carved stone faces of Bayon glowing in the morning light, and walking through the jungle paths of Ta Prohm felt truly magical.
