According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the total number of Russian soldiers lost since the large-scale invasion commenced on February 24, 2022, has now hit approximately 1,390,660. The update from June 20 indicates that there were 1,240 Russian fatalities reported within the last 24 hours, in addition to significant equipment losses, including 12,041 tanks, 44,386 artillery pieces, and 361,803 drones. Ukraine has not revealed its own casualty figures, citing the need for operational confidentiality. Estimates from CSIS suggest that Russian losses are still about two to two-and-a-half times greater than those of Ukraine. These statistics highlight the ongoing intensity of attrition as the conflict enters a new stage.
