Hundreds of Colombian fans packed La Minerva roundabout in Guadalajara on Monday, turning one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks into a sea of yellow ahead of Colombia’s second World Cup Group K match, this time against DR Congo.
Footage shows supporters in Colombia shirts dancing, singing and waving national flags, with chants ringing out across the roundabout.
Colombia opened its Group K campaign with a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan in Mexico City, and fans in Guadalajara are hoping for more of the same.
"God bless them and make me cry again, because in Mexico City they already did, because they behaved very well with that three-one that we won," said Columbia supporter Francisco Milla.
Another fan, Esmeralda Rodriguez, said the team could count on huge support in Guadalajara.
"It is going to be a complete wave of Colombians. Yellow all over the stadium, singing Colombia's chants in unison," she said.
Nestor Lorenzo’s side is chasing a second straight win and a firmer grip on Group K.
Colombia face DR Congo at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara on Tuesday night local time, with the African side also unbeaten after holding Portugal to a 1-1 draw in its opening match.
