Taiwan’s benchmark Taiex index hit a new record high on Tuesday, briefly surpassing 48,000 points. The rally was driven by gains in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index and strong performances from major technology companies, including TSMC, MediaTek and ASE. The index later retreated, closing down 1.34%.
