Seafarers honored on special day
Capt. John Michael Lechugas and his crew onboard the MV Camellia Island —a bulk carrier traveling worldwide under the management of Solpia Marine and Ship Management Incorporated — celebrate the International Day of the Seafarer on June 26, 2026. The event set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) honors the maritime workforce that includes Filipinos who man more than half of the merchant fleet that ensures commerce, trade and the delivery of essential goods worldwide.
