Iran slams U.S.-GCC statement, reasserts control of Hormuz

Iran has condemned a joint statement by the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council as "interventionist, irresponsible and provocative," accusing Washington of distorting the regional security situation and fuelling insecurity.
