The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has unveiled new demands that could reshape any future U.S.-Iran peace agreement. Following a high-level meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman called for negotiations with Iran to go far beyond its nuclear program.
The Gulf states argue that any lasting deal must also address Iran's ballistic missile program, drone capabilities, support for regional proxy groups, and security in the Strait of Hormuz. They warn that a nuclear-only agreement would leave the Middle East vulnerable to future conflicts and attacks on critical energy infrastructure.
As Washington continues negotiations with Tehran, the GCC's tougher stance is adding new pressure to expand the scope of any future agreement. Is the region entering a new phase of diplomacy—or a new era of confrontation?
Watch the full analysis on the GCC's latest position, U.S.-Iran negotiations, Gulf security concerns, sanctions, missiles, drones, proxy groups, and the future of stability in the Middle East.
