Bloody Pit of Horror (1965) is an Italian gothic horror film directed by Massimo Pupillo, starring Mickey Hargitay, Walter Brandi, Luisa Baratto, and Rita Klein. A photographer and his models travel to a seemingly deserted castle to shoot covers for a horror photo-novel, and decide to break in when the location appears abandoned. However, they soon discover the castle is occupied by a former actor named Travis Anderson, who initially is annoyed by the intruders but allows them to stay after recognizing his former fiancée Edith among the group, warning them that the dungeons are strictly off limits. As the group continues their shoot, they unknowingly awaken the castle owner's deranged alter ego: a man who believes himself to be the reincarnation of a 17th-century executioner, leading to a string of gruesome torture-based killings. With its campy tone, gothic atmosphere, and over-the-top death traps, the film has become a cult favorite among fans of 1960s Italian horror cinema.
