Video from the El Salvador presidency showed rescuers in a confined space calling out as the puppy barked, before bringing the animal out in Caracas on Sunday (June 28), days after twin earthquakes struck Venezuela.
The death toll passed 1,700 on Monday (June 29) as frustration grew over a lack of government help in affected areas.
