ವಿವಿಧ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನಾ ಸಭೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಸಚಿವ ಕೃಷ್ಣಭೈರೇಗೌಡ ಅವರು ಜಿಬಿಎ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆವರಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಜಿಬಿಎ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಪಶುಸಂಗೋಪನೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಕುರಿತು ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಚಿವ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಭೈರೇಗೌಡರು, ನಾಯಿಗಳ ಸಂತಾನಹರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಯಾವಾಗಿಂದ ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ? . ಇಷ್ಟು ದಿನ ಎಷ್ಟು ನಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂತಾನಹರಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ಆದರೂ ನಾಯಿಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರಲು ಕಾರಣವೇನು? ಎಂದು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದರು.
During a progress review meeting on various development programmes, Bengaluru Urban Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda questioned GBA officials over the stray dog population issue in the city. While reviewing the Animal Husbandry Department’s activities, the minister sought details on the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme, asking when the sterilisation drive began, how many dogs have been sterilised so far, and why the dog population continues to rise despite the ongoing efforts.
