Inflation relief has arrived on July 1, 2026, as the government announced a sharp ₹183.50 reduction in the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders. In Delhi, the price has dropped from ₹3,113.50 to ₹2,930. Revised rates have also come into effect in cities including Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, and Leh, providing significant relief to hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries, and small businesses. However, there has been no change in the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders, which remain unchanged across the country. Meanwhile, the government has increased the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) on petrol exports from ₹1.5 per litre to ₹4 per litre to prioritize domestic fuel availability. The big question now is whether the reduction in commercial LPG prices will translate into lower prices for food and beverages at hotels and restaurants, or whether businesses will retain the savings instead of passing them on to consumers.
1 जुलाई 2026 को महंगाई के मोर्चे पर बड़ी राहत मिली है। सरकार ने 19 किलो वाले कमर्शियल एलपीजी सिलेंडर की कीमत में ₹183.50 की भारी कटौती की है, जिसके बाद दिल्ली में इसकी कीमत ₹3,113.50 से घटकर ₹2,930 हो गई है। लखनऊ, कोलकाता, पटना और लेह समेत कई शहरों में भी नए रेट लागू कर दिए गए हैं, जिससे होटल, ढाबा, रेस्तरां और छोटे कारोबारियों को सीधा फायदा मिलेगा। हालांकि 14.2 किलो वाले घरेलू एलपीजी सिलेंडर की कीमतों में कोई बदलाव नहीं किया गया है और वे पहले की तरह ही बनी हुई हैं। इसी के साथ सरकार ने पेट्रोल के निर्यात पर स्पेशल एडिशनल एक्साइज ड्यूटी (SAED) को ₹1.5 प्रति लीटर से बढ़ाकर ₹4 प्रति लीटर कर दिया है, ताकि घरेलू आपूर्ति को प्राथमिकता दी जा सके। अब सबसे बड़ा सवाल यह है कि कमर्शियल गैस सस्ती होने के बाद क्या होटल और रेस्तरां खाने-पीने की चीजों के दाम घटाएंगे या नहीं।
