Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has outlined what he says is the key requirement for any lasting US-Iran agreement: the complete removal of Iran's military nuclear capability.
Speaking on the proposed US-Iran peace framework, Azar argued that while negotiations have begun, a final agreement must permanently address Iran's nuclear programme. He also reiterated Israel's long-standing concerns over Iran's ballistic missile programme and support for regional proxy groups, warning that leaving these issues unresolved could create future instability.
The current US-Iran framework includes a 60-day negotiation period over Iran's nuclear programme, with the return of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors forming a central part of the interim agreement. However, questions remain over verification, Iran's enriched uranium stockpile, and whether a comprehensive deal can satisfy both Washington and Israel.
