Lines from the story
Suddenly overcome by a dark impulse, I
opened my wife's diary.
There, I discovered her devotion to
me—things I never knew.
I learned she only ever ate natto rice or
ochazuke for lunch.
She apparently limits herself to just one
family restaurant outing with friends per
month.
The reason? She wants me to eat delicious
meals.
Bright entries like “Today I'm buying
oysters, hubby's favorite~” filled the
pages.
Occasionally, she wrote about my complaints,
but she always ended with kind words
supporting me.
How much she cares for me... Tears welled up.
If only I were more capable, I'd treat her to
sushi or anything she wanted for lunch.
I was the one who asked her to stay home
full-time even though my salary is low,
she's never once blamed me about money, and
she even says saving is fun...
Sneaking reads isn't good, but marrying her
made me realize how lucky I am.
Since I can't do anything for her, I swear
I won't cheat.
Well, even if I wanted to, I'm not popular
enough to cheat anyway.
