Thousands of child sexual abuse survivors risk missing out on compensation and acknowledgement via the National Redress Scheme if a backlog of applications aren't processed before it closes in 2028. The Department of Social Services has insisted it will process all claims before the closure date, but experts and support service staff aren't convinced.
