Rescued Korean bile bears begin new life in Denmark
Six Asiatic black bears —also known as moon bears — begin a new life in Denmark with access to forest and pools after being rescued from bile farms in South Korea. The caged bears, used for bile extraction for traditional medicine, are the first to be relocated to Europe as South Korea phases out the practice. "I think we've gone from a very bad life to hopefully a wonderful bear life," says Knuthenborg Safaripark owner Christoffer Knuth.
