Woman who attacked Senator Lindia Thorpe outside the MCG avoids jail

A woman who punched federal senator Linda Thorpe in the face has avoided a jail term over the attack. The case has been shrouded in secrecy, after the senator applied for a suppression order to stop media coverage of the case.
