A safari guide enjoyed an unforgettable poolside visitor when a wild elephant wandered over for a drink before appearing to wave hello.
Nick Kleer filmed the remarkable encounter in Botswana while hosting a safari trip in Africa.
The video shows the elephant calmly approaching the swimming pool, drinking from the water's edge before lifting its trunk towards Nick, creating the impression it is greeting him.
He stressed that no contact was ever attempted and warned others not to approach wild elephants.
Nick said: "He was nearby one day when I splashed in the pool. He approached and drank. I remained at a safe distance chatting to him gently.
"This was repeated for several days.
"It must be noted that at no point was contact attempted from either side. This was a very peaceful and rare encounter and I do not advise anyone to try approach elephants."
Online, viewers loved the gentle encounter.
One commenter joked: "The elephant even said hello!"
Another wrote: "He said hello too just before splashing dust everywhere in the water."
