आध्यात्मिक गुरु देवकीनंदन ठाकुर ने मंदिरों में कथित गबन और मंदिरों के धन के उपयोग को लेकर बड़ा बयान दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि केवल मंदिरों में होने वाली चोरी की घटनाओं को उछालकर सनातन धर्म को बदनाम नहीं किया जाना चाहिए। उनका आरोप है कि आज़ादी के बाद से सरकारों ने मंदिरों की आय का सही उपयोग नहीं किया। उन्होंने वक्फ बोर्ड की तर्ज पर एक 'सनातन बोर्ड' बनाने की मांग करते हुए कहा कि यदि मंदिरों की राशि का उपयोग गरीबों की मदद, आधुनिक गुरुकुलों, गौ-सेवा और समाज कल्याण में किया जाए तो इससे धर्मांतरण जैसी समस्याओं को भी रोका जा सकता है। देवकीनंदन ठाकुर का मानना है कि मंदिरों का प्रबंधन संतों और धार्मिक नेताओं के हाथ में होना चाहिए।
Spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur has made a strong statement regarding the alleged misuse of temple funds and the need for a separate Sanatan Board. He argued that focusing only on thefts in temples risks defaming Sanatan Dharma, while similar incidents occur elsewhere as well. Thakur claimed that governments have misused temple resources since Independence and suggested that a Sanatan Board, similar in structure to the Waqf Board, should manage temple affairs. According to him, temple funds should be used for supporting poor families, modern Gurukuls, cow protection, and social welfare to strengthen society and help prevent religious conversions driven by economic hardship.
