The organisers of the Selangor Agro Fishing Festival @ Shah Alam 2026 have apologised after the accidental release of invasive Siamese catfish into Tasik Barat at Taman Tasik Shah Alam sparked public backlash on Sunday (July 12).
They said the predatory, non-native fish were released as part of the festival's opening ceremony ahead of a fishing tournament on July 26, blaming the incident on inaccurate information provided during the fish procurement process.
