The House prosecution panel affirmed during a press conference on Thursday, July 16, that the motion to subpoena Vice President Sara Duterte’s bank and tax records are fully compliant with the Constitution and existing laws, responding to the defense’s statement that they only seek legal and constitutional processes.
House prosecutor Rep. Joel Chua said there is no reason to block the motion if there is nothing to hide, so that the public can properly assess the case. He explained the impeachment trial uses liberal procedural rules, with accountability and evidence as the main priority. (Video courtesy of House of Representatives)
