It was the multi-billion dollar project that was supposed to keep trucks off Melbourne’s suburban streets. But inner city residents say the west gate tunnel has had the opposite effect. The city of Melbourne says an overflow of toll-dodging trucks have overrun Kensington and will vote tonight to ban heavy vehicles altogether from some roads.
